llms.txt
A Markdown-formatted summary file at the root of a site that tells language models "this is what the site is about, these are the important pages". The introducing, not blocking, sibling of robots.txt.
llms.txt is a plain-text file that lives at yoursite.com/llms.txt. It contains the business name, a one-sentence description and links to the most important pages, with a note next to each link saying what the page covers. The format is Markdown: a heading, a quote line, a few bullet points.
What it does
When a language model reads a site, it has to find the real information among menus, cookie notices and promo strips. llms.txt skips that noise and gives the essence. It is not a ranking signal; you don't start getting recommended because you wrote the file. But it costs close to nothing, and the exercise of describing your business in one paragraph is valuable on its own.
Structure
# Business Name
> One-sentence description
